Zoom out text effect

This Flash tutorial will teach you how to create a zoom out text effect. This effect is very simple and the results look like text being zoomed out from a close distance.

Zoom out text effect

Step 1

Open a new Flash document Select the text tool (t) and type your text on the stage. I used impact font type with red colour fill you can use whatever you wish.

Convert your text into symbol by pressing F8. Give it an appropriate name, check movie clip and click ok.

Step 2

On the timeline select the 30th frame and select F6 to insert a new key frame. Your timeline should look like below:

Now select the 1st frame then the free transform tool (Q). Hold down the Alt key and drag your piece of text downwards until it looks like a line. Your line should look like below:

Hover over your shrunken text and you should see a symbol which looks like two fallen down “L’s”. Now drag this symbol to the right until it’s as wide as your computer screen.

Step 3

On the timeline right click anywhere in between the 1st and 30th frame and select create motion tween.

Test your movie clip Ctrl + enter.

You should now have a zoom out text effect.
