Blur image effect

This Flash tutorial will teach you how to create a blurred image effect. This effect is very simple and produces interesting results. No action script is needed.
For this tutorial I used a free stock image of a car which is available at: www.sxu.hu

Blur image effect

Step 1

Open a new flash document. Import your image onto the stage by selecting File > Import > Import to stage select the image you wish to use then click ok.

Step 2

Convert your image into a symbol by selecting F8. Give your symbol an appropriate name, check movie clip and click ok.

Step 3

Using the selection tool (v) select your image then filter tab at the bottom of the screen. Select the little blue plus sign and select blur from the drop down menu. And then enter the following settings:

Step 4

On the timeline insert a key frame at frame 30 by pressing F6. And then select your image again using the selection tool (v) and change the blur x & y to 0. Now right click anywhere in between the 1st and 30th and create a motion tween. Your timeline should look like below:

Step 5

Test your movie clip
Ctrl + enter.

You should now have a blurred image effect.
