Love it or hate it, PowerPoint is here to stay. Long before schmoozing of forums and publishing of blogs, people have been investing large amounts of time and talents in creating PowerPoint slide shows. Occasionally, we all have something important or interesting enough to want to share with the world. This guide will help you develop and share your masterpiece with others online. Here we go.
Of course you can directly attach the PowerPoint files on your Web pages. Thru this your presentations can be downloaded to local disk and then be viewed by users who have Microsoft PowerPoint or PowerPoint viewer installed. Does everyone have PowerPoint installed on their computers? Of course not! Thus this way is definitely not the right way to widely distribute your PowerPoint presentations online.
Let's think about another way that saving your presentations as Web pages in PowerPoint. Obviously by this way you could directly put generated Web pages in your Web space. But these generated Web pages can not retain any transitions, animations or other effects in original presentation. You just get a static slides show on your pages. Moreover, the scripts in generated Web pages always make your broswer crashed.
So what is the best way to distribute the PowerPoint presentation over the internet? To solve this problem, there are three aspects should be taken to consideration:
1, Retain the PowerPoint animations and transitions;
2, Easy to be added to the Web page;
3, Protect the author copyrights.
Then which file format is the best choice of sharing online? HTML, PPS/PPT or Flash? Since Flash Player is widely installed in most computers and supported by most Web broswers, obviously Flash is the best idea which can fulfil above requirements.
Advantage for converting PowerPoint to Flash:
1, Preserve the original PowerPoint animations and transitions;
2, Reduce up to 90% the file size of PowerPoint;
3, Password protect the output Flash presentation. No one can edit it except the author.
4, Embed the Flash anywhere, easily create rich-media Web page.
5, Small size file is easy to be emailed to others.
