Submiting Tutorials

How do I submit tutorials?

You can simply visit the "submit" page and there you can select a category and the amount for the tutorials you are submitting. You will have to submit again if you would like to submit tutorials under a different category.

I just submitted my tutorials but I don't see them on the site!

When tutorials are submitted they are sent to an "approval que" where they have to be approved by an Administrator, this may take a few minutes or it make take a few days, it all depends on how active and how busy the Administrator is.

My tutorials aren't getting approved!

It is possible that your tutorials are being declined, this could be because of several reasons but it really varies from site to site (since the Administrators may have different expectations). Although some basic rules to follow are:

- Make sure that your tutorial doesn't require registration to view.
- Make sure it's a tutorial, where you actually learn something.
- It is a quality tutorial (will vary from site to site).

I uploaded my own avatar but the avatar wasn't the one I uploaded?

This may have happened because the avatar didn't follow the avatar rules, they are at the top of the submit page. If the avatar doesn't follow the rules then it will just be replaced with a default avatar.

When I submit tutorials, how come they don't always succeed?

This could be caused by many problems, but just follow what it tells you to put such as when it says "include http://" or in the titles use normal characters and try to avoid using symbols that may cause problems.

Do I need to register to submit a tutorial?

No, TutorialMS does not require any users to register to submit tutorials, rate tutorials, report tutorials etc.

Can I edit the submitted tutorial(s) after they are submitted?

TutorialMS does not allow users to edit tutorials themselves but you may be able to contact the Web Master (through the Contact page).

What's the 'avatar' for?

The avatar is not neccissarry for each tutorial you submit because there will be a default avatar for the category you are submitting to. Although, avatars are useful because you can then make your tutorial stand more and/or give an example of the tutorial.

How long does it take for a tutorial to be approved?

There is no set period of time that it will take to approve your tutorial, if it is approved at all. It will most likely depend on how many tutorials are in the Approval Que and how often the Web Master approves tutorials

How do I rate a tutorial?

On each tutorial there is a link to rate it, once you click it, it will pop-up with a page where you choose a rating from 1-10 (10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest), then just submit your vote. Each user is only allowed to vote once for each tutorial to prevent cheating.

What do I do if a tutorial I go to doesn't work?

If you visit a tutorial and the tutorial isn't there because it was deleted or the site is gone, then just go back and click the link that says "Dead Link" and it will be submited to the administrater to check out.

What is this link that says "More" do?

This will go to a page that lists out all the tutorials by the site who made tutorial that you had the "More" link on it. This is useful if you like the site's style of making tutorial or want to find out what other categories the site has.

Why don't the "Dead Link" and "Rate" links work?

If these links don't work (meaning nothing happens) then this is probably because your browser doesn't have Javascript enabled. You need a browser with Javascript enabled to open these pop-ups.

Finding Tutorials

How do I search for tutorials?

By default there is a search bar at the top left part of the page. You can type your search there and select a category to search in if you want. If that is not there then there is also a search area on the "Tutorials" page or when your browsing through categories.

How do I sort tutorials?

There is a sorting feature on the "Tutorials" page or when your just browsing through categories, you can choose to sort through some common thing such as amount of views a tutorial has, how high it's rating is etc.

You can also choose to sort by a second thing so if two tutorials were the same (for example two tutorials were rated 10) and you sorted by rating then by the second thing, it would sort those two tutorials by the second thing.
